St Peter's Mission Statement
Through the grace of the Holy Spirit we seek to be a Christian community celebrating and witnessing to the Good News of Jesus Christ in worship and action, through:
· Valuing all its members as part of the Body of Christ and nurturing their spiritual growth.
· Praying and working for the unity of all Christians.
· Reaching out in compassion to anyone in need.
· Seeking to build up community life in Pentrebane and Fairwater.
· Helping to work for justice and peace throughout the world.
· Respecting the natural environment.
· Recognising God at work in all people and every part of creation.
· To develop St Peters Community Hall and Gardens in such a way that they can be used by as wide a cross section of the community as possible.
Who we are
We are a part of the West Cardiff Ministry Area in the Church in Wales. This means we work within a small group of churches local to us - St David's Caerau, The Church of the Resurrection Ely, St Luke's Victoria Park, St John's Canton, and St Catherine's Pontcanna. While each church still retains its own distinctive 'flavour', we enjoy coming together for special events and our clergy and congregations support one another in our life and ministry together. Scroll down to see some of the things most important to us.

A contemplative church
We value contemplation, stillness, and silence in our worship, and try to find ways to offer space for this in all our services. This can range from a minute or two of silent reflection on a Sunday to a slightly more extended time of quiet prayer at our midweek Eucharist. We also have a contemplative group who meet in church every Wednesday at 6.30pm. Don't worry if this type of prayer is new to you - we endeavour to make sure it is accessible to all, whatever your level of prior engagement.
A welcoming church
It is important for us that everyone is able to participate fully in our worship and the wider life of St Peter's regardless of age, race, disability, sexuality, gender identity, socioeconomic background, or any other characteristic. Our church and hall are fully accessible, with a gentle ramp leading to the front door of the church and accessible toilets in both buildings. Our Ministry Area leader is an Inclusive Church Ambassador for Wales, and St Peter's is exploring the process of officially joining the Inclusive Church Network.

An Eco Church
In 2018 we were awarded a Silver Eco Church award, and are currently working towards Gold. We have a strong commitment both to taking practical steps to make our buildings and activities environmentally sustainable and to reflect our deep love of and care for God's creation in our prayer and worship. Our gardens are maintained with local wildlife in mind, and we are always keen to find new ways to enrich their biodiversity and increase engagement.
